Christine Corday: The Sun is the Way | Exhibition

noisé reading room presents Christine Corday: The Sun Is the Way, the first exhibition in China by the New York-based artist. On view from June 9 through July 8, 2026, the exhibition brings together original works from Relative Points (2017) alongside the first release of a limited edition series published by noisé in collaboration with the artist.

Developed between 2017 and 2019, Relative Points is a body of oxidizing monoprints and cold-compression sculptures that reflects Corday’s long-standing investigation into material transformation and the elemental relationships between the human body and the wider universe. Iron, graphite, and metallic particles are altered through temperature and pressure, shifting between material states and leaving singular impressions across both sculpture and paper.

For this project, seventeen works from Relative Points have been selected and authorized by the artist for publication as a limited edition series. The editions translate works from the series into a published format, offering another way of engaging with a body of work that has remained central to Corday’s practice.

Extending beyond the exhibition itself, The Sun Is the Way also includes an artist’s desk featuring books from Corday’s personal library, archival materials, notebooks, studio objects, and sculptural prototypes. Together with a selection of music from the artist’s studio, these materials provide insight into the research, observation, and experimentation that inform her work.
